Week one,

Weekly update

 Physical Activity:

So have you ever wanted to learn karate? Well here are four different moves. (The pictures and some of the tips aren't mine.)
Front kick:
This kick is karate's most powerful kick. Take your left knee, and bring it up to your waist level, then extend the rest of the leg straight out. Of course you'll do this quickly, but for starters just try it slow, and while your doing the kick make sure your right leg is planted firmly in the ground otherwise, I don't think you could have even done it. Also make sure that your right leg is perfectly straight.
Here is a picture of front and back kicks:

Back Kick:
Stand in a comfy position facing forward towards your opponent. Your right leg is the kicker, now bend the non-kicking one (left leg) just ever so slightly so as to give your body extra support and balance; look over your right shoulder and stare hard into your opponent's eyes (just to give effect). Now keep looking and bend your right knee, aim your heel in a straight line toward your target, and kick your foot high behind you. Now your eyes are VERY important in this kick, keep looking at your target while you kick back, extending your leg. Pull your leg back in the same path you used for your kick.
(Remember to not do this to anyone unless your in a class teaching karate or for self protection.)
 Knife Hand/Classic Karate Chop:
Open your hand and twist it so that your thumb faces the ceiling and your pinky faces the floor. (In this sense making your hand into a fist with you thumb up.) Extend your fingers forward and away from you. The fingers should lightly touch; let your thumb fall into the palm of you hand (look closely at the picture) and bend the top of the thumb downward (study her right hand). Arch the hand slightly backwards and raise your hand above your shoulder, Swing diagonally downward across to the other side of your body aiming to strike your target with the part of your hand that's just below your pinky.

Picture of the Punch and pull, knife hand, and lung punch moves:

Punch and Pull:
Face forward with your feet should-width apart, keeping your right leg straight, lung forward with your left leg, bending at the knee. Push your right arm forward in front of your body, with your hand in the downward-facing fist. Your left arm stays back, at your side, with your left hand in a n upward-facing fist. Now punch forward with your left arm and do it hard, but make sure not to take the arm out of your socket. Now after this your right hand takes the punch.

Hands-on craft:

A simple sit upon is nice for a quick read or being the base for an inside game, all you need is:
  • Plastic bags like the kind from the grocery store, about 12in. by 12 in. Also you'll want the handles cut off so it types right. =]
  • Next your gonna need lot's of newspaper, magazines, or just plain scratch paper to fill it with,
  • And lastly one of the most needed tools of men: Duct type or other wide and strong type
Now stack the papers nice and neat, cut or fold them to fit in the bag, slide them in the bag, then squeeze all of the air out of the bag. Next type the bag or use a second one if it's needed, all around the edges, making it secure, AND THAT'S IT! If you really want to make it nice and pretty, then get two fabrics measure the seat cut and sow. It's very fun, easy, and simple, like it's name.
Thank you for reading and sorry for making it so long. Have any questions? Just comment.
